Black and White and {Red} All Over

I have a riddle for you today:

What’s black and white and red all over?

A newspaper! Writing this out I see that it loses its effect when its not said aloud. If I just wrote the word read it would be far too obvious. Oh well…

That riddle came to mind when I was looking through the pictures from this outfit post taken on yet another freezing snow day here in NC. I am starting to crave routine. I actually want to go to class when its scheduled and in to work when I am supposed to!

Luckily, Danny lives only a mile from all of the bars and restaurants in Chapel Hill, so we were able to walk up there for coffee, waffles, pizza, fresh cookies… basically all of the healthiest foods offered on a college campus.

It’s funny how 8 inches of snow can turn the usually boring walk we always avoid into an adventure. It took quite a while to get there with the snow so deep, but the pay off was definitely worth it. We had slices of artichoke pizza at our favorite pizza joint and finished off the meal by splitting a sinfully decadent s’mores cookie from Insomnia Cookies. Eaten standing up in the corner of the store, straight out of the box, only pausing to oooh and ahh momentarily over how amazing it was.

In fact, it was so good that I forgot to take any pictures of either part of the meal. Bad blogger! Luckily, I did remember to get Danny to snap a few pictures of my outfit. The photo shoot ended up being mostly pictures of me squinting from the bright snow or of me mid fall, but we got some good ones too!

On a side note, the coat I am wearing is without a doubt my best clothing purchase of all time. I bought this in 9th grade! And I still wear it all the time and always get compliments. Goes to show that investing in a quality, classic piece is the best way to spend your money on clothes.

After such an indulgent meal we ended our afternoon walking our dogs on our favorite trail through the woods. It was seriously gorgeous blanketed in snow. I felt like I was in a whole other world! I also couldn’t stop singing Out of the Woods in my head the whole time. And sometimes out loud. Lucky Danny 😉

Snow may make for some beautiful pictures, but here’s to hoping NC has seen the last of it for this winter!

Luv your outfits,so classy.winter wonderland, one of the things I’m grateful for on my way into or from work during storms.it’s quiet and sugar coated and never gets old.don’t like when turns to slush or when drivers on road who don’t know how to drive in snow.plan to make your barley salad with quinoa next week, and monkey bread for crew at work next weekend.enjoying your blog.makes me smile.
